I like to read. A lot. As a kid I was several reading grades ahead of my peers and took first place in my second grade reading contest reading two books in tandem so I could score more points. (Maybe I’m a little competitive as well…) My mom gave me my first Dean Koonz book in junior high and I powered through each of his books in a day or two. Needless to say I’m hooked on books.
As an adult I still love to read and while I love the occasional readuntilmyeyescross novel such as the Hunger Games Trilogy and Pillars of the Earth I spend a ridiculous amount of time reading nutrition books and cookbooks. Since you all are here because you love my recipes and are looking for a little boost in your nutrition I want to share some of my favorite Forkin’ Healthy book picks with you and give a copy to one of you!
I’m going to start with Nourishing Wisdom by Marc David. It is an incredible book that completely changed the way I look at the food I put in my body and the way I look at myself in the mirror. If you aren’t familiar with Marc David he is the founder of The Institute For The Psychology of Eating and he gives a fresh, lighthearted perspective on food and nutrition.
It’s an easy read and great whether you are just beginning to get curious about nutrition or if you’ve been in the game for a long time. There is definitely something for everyone in this book.
As a gift to my lovely followers I’m going to give away a copy of Nourishing Wisdom to one random comment below. Woooo! Hooo!
