Hello dear friends it’s time for a Forkin’ Healthy book giveaway! I absolutely have to share this gem with you. It’s a fantastic book called Bread & Wine by Shauna Neiquist and it was recommended by another foodie friend . You may have heard of it and you may have even read it yourself and if you have please comment below and tell me what you loved the most about Bread & Wine.
I dove into this book over the holiday break, bookmarked every other page and finished it in 3 days. It was love at first page. Her story telling about food and how it brings people together really spoke to my soul. Here is an example:
[pullQuote position=”center”]“I believe every person should be able to make the simple foods that nourish them, that feel familiar and comforting, that tell the story of who they are. Each one of us should be able to nourish ourselves in the most basic way and to create meals and traditions around the table that tell the story of who we are to the people we care about. And the only way to get there is to start where you are.” – Shauna Neiquist, Bread & Wine[/pullQuote]
This book got me excited to cook, to entertain and to keep my healthy foodie philosophy in mind when I dive into the kitchen and because it got me so fired up I want to share it with you as well. One lucky person who comments below will be entered to win Bread & Wine by Shauna Neiquist. I would love to know what one of your favorite books / cookbooks are too!
Have a beautiful day!
Bread & Wine looks awesome! I totally want to read it now too. I can’t even say that I have a favorite cook book because I really don’t have that many. I usually look to blogs for inspiration. One of my favs is The Pioneer Woman.
Bri you would love it!! It’s such a great book :). I also love pioneer woman too!
BRI!!! Congratulations!!! You are the winner of the Bread & Wine book! I’ll be contact with you shortly.
🙂
This looks a great book.
At the moment I am loving The Food Magician’s Spell Book by Catherine Warrington.I have a young daughter & have always been interested in more than just putting food on the table – I believe that loving intentions are a huge part of creating wholesome meals (in fact -for life in general) & this book really puts this to children. You can also download – free-The Food Magicians’ Companion To Cooking With Love – @ http://www.foodmagician.com – it’s really beautiful 🙂 Yvonne xxx
I’d love to get my hands on this book! One of my favorite things to do is bring my friends together and cook for them. I recently bought It’s All Good by Gwyneth Paltrow and have really enjoyed that!
I love this philosophy as I also feel the same way. I believe cooking gives us true independence because otherwise we are alway depending on others to feed us. I have so many cookbooks, it’s hard to pick a favorite. I would say that the book that had the most influence on me was Andrew Weil’s Healthy Kitchen. It was the first time I ever learned about foods that are good for you.
Lizeth – you would LOVE this book! Her philosophy around cooking and entertaining is so beautiful!
Haven’t read it, but I do love both Bread and Wine!
Awesome Chassie! This book looks so great! Nourishing ourselves should be top priority 🙂 What a treat to anyone who wins!
I would love to win. My favorite cookbook right now is Barefoot and in the Kitchen. It’s a vegan cookbook and has really great and easy recipes.
My favorite kind of book! The latest food/writing book to take over my brain is Dinner A Love Story… one of my favorite blogs, and the book was just as charming!
