That is my mantra for 2011. One simple word that means so much. The last couple of years have flown by and this is my way of slowing them down. In my perfect world this is what my 2011 looks like.
More walks on the beach, Smashball and jogs every now and then close to the water. Hunt for a collection of sea glass to call our own and take an obscene amount of sunset photos with my beloved Diana.
Explore new restaurants and learn to master a creamy gorgonzola sauce. Lots of lazy Sunday mornings drinking french press coffee, planning my weekly menus and Chino Farm adventures
Explore the neighborhood trails with the girls, chase them around the house and take them to the beach. Finish 60 days of Insanity and talk Steve into buying us Beach Cruisers this Spring.
I’m going to read more and blog more – even if I don’t have a recipe.
Hold my husband’s hand more often, take him to see indie films and concerts. Cook him dinner and kiss him as often as I can. Show him everyday how happy I am to be his wife.
What are your resolutions?
to move my cooking borders east. My cooking style is very Western European and I’ve realized recently I never cook anything with Indian, Middle Eastern or Asian flavors. I am going to change that this year and spend some serious time in the wonderful ethnic markets we have here in Houston.
I love this so much. I am on entirely the same path. Simplify, be rather than do, more time outside appreciated nature, watching the kids soak it in. I love that idea of photographing more sunsets, I think I want to perfect my granola and learn to make marshmallows and those meringue cookies I can’t think of the name of right now, and finding still time to meditate every day. I don’t know why that ones so hard but it is. 🙂
Marshmallows!! I have a fantastic recipe – I made smore kits for the family this year for Christmas – homemade graham crackers and all! I’ll be sure to share 🙂
